Sleeping Beauty

Here is a pic from our latest doctor's appointment. For some of you, this is just a blob. She is laying on her side, her eyes are the big circular blobs, you can see her nose, and her hand is in front of her mouth like she is sucking on her thumb. This is such an awesome picture!

Names???

We are having a hard time coming up with a girls name. Does anyone have any ideas? I am tired of everyone asking what we are going to name the baby and not having a response. At this point, she is called her or baby...not good enough for the birth certificate.

It's a....

It's a girl! Ryan did ask if there was any way to get another view of baby...just maybe if the baby twisted or turned in the right direction it would be a boy...no luck for Ryan. The baby is doing fine...good weight...nice heartbeat...everything seems to be developing well.

It is amazing what you can see in an ultrasound...all the fingers and toes...the heart beating...we could even see the mouth moving...pretty crazy!

I will try to put a couple pictures up on the blog soon...not that you will be able to tell much...I just like looking at the pictures every now and again.

Today's the big day!

Today we get to find out if it is a boy or girl...I think everybody has their own opinion on what it is but we can all put that at rest is just a few hours...

I'll let you know soon!

Just had another doctor's appointment today...soon we will know what we are having. We are going to have an ultrasound in about 2 weeks in St. Louis. We are going to have a comprehensive ultrasound. It should tell us a lot...I don't know if it is one of those 3-d ultrasounds or not.

I can't wait to find out what we are having! I have a couple boy things I bought...for my friend who just had a boy, but I found out I was pregnant and decided to hold onto the items for a little while. Mom bought some girlie onesies. Ryan's parents bought the kid a toy truck on vacation in August. So, mom is either going to be making a trip to return her items or our girl is going to have a little tomboy streak!

I'll let you know when I know...believe me!

Bedrest

Bedrest is not fun! I had a scare a week ago and had been on bedrest since. I had an abruption, basically the placenta was not fully attached to the uterus and causing some problems. I went to the doctor yesterday and got a very encouraging report. I also found out I can get off of bedrest. I still have to take things slow...very slow...but it is nice to get to move around a little.

Yesterday was the first day I have been able to move around. It took so much out of me I fell asleep around 8:30 or 9 pm. The downside to that is I woke up about 3 or 3:30 am and have a real hard time getting back to sleep.

My grandparents (dad's side) are coming down today to hang out...help out...and best of all bring spaghetti and meatballs. Ok, so that may not be the best part but it is the best part to my stomach. I love my grandma's spaghetti and meatballs. Before their arrival, I ran a quick (ha!)errand. Apparently, it was also the day the social security checks were mailed out because there were tons of old ladies out shopping. I almost started laughing out loud because we all were walking sooooo slooooowwww! We could have started our own tortoise race for the door. It humored me...but I don't think the old ladies would appreciate it! :)

I am going back to work tomorrow. Ryan's mom is on standby. She has been my sub for most of the bedrest. Ryan is going to come with me in the morning to get things set up...a stool for teaching...overhead so I don't have to use the board so much...etc. It should be good. I am ready to get back and see the kids. I am really excited (and Ryan is really worried). It is really going to wear me out the first few days back.

I do want to let everyone know...I am doing better...the baby is fine (and has been through all of this)...things are just going to be a little slower around our house for a few weeks!

Sorry I have not updated the blog recently...

Since school has started all I have been is tired...I sit down as much as I can during the day...I have to rest before I can make dinner...then I fall asleep soon after eating!

I did have my first traumatic moment last Friday...I couldn't find any pants that fit. I did have jeans that fit...but of course, they were dirty because I do most my laundry over the weekend. I spent several minutes pulling...tugging...trying to get the pant to fit. Ryan told me to give up. I was just about in tears. I told him...let me figure out they don't fit...I guess I just needed to pull my jeans all the way up and realize there was no chance of getting the button into the hole. What a sad day!

Just as sad was the next day when Mom and I went shopping to try to find some jeans that fit. We went to Washington, Mo, so they didn't have too much variety...no long lengths for my enormously long legs...no jeans at the end of the day. The sad part really was that all I wanted to do when I got home was sleep. I used to shop like crazy. I loved leaving mid Saturday morning and not arriving home until dinner or after. I can't do that...hopefully soon I will be able to get close.

I don't have any other news really...my belly still barely shows...I think it shows but nobody else does. I have ended my first trimester, so soon, the growth will begin.

I am so glad school is starting...that means I will not be home when any of those baby shows are on. Some of those shows are pretty traumatic...people have some pretty crazy births. I can't watch anymore.

School is starting soon...so that means life is about to get pretty wild. We just had registration so I have been at school the past couple days for several hours. Ryan and I are going to make a quick trip to Tennessee next week. It should be fun...last moments of freedom for a while. Then, I have to be at school all day starting August 20th. I can't wait! Can you feel the sarcasm through the screen? It's there. I am looking forward to school but I really could use a couple more weeks of summer! :)

Peanut

Ok...so we are not as far along as first thought. Our new due date is March 18th. We met our doctor...he seems good...nice guy. Here are a couple pictures of our peanut...or baby...but right now it looks more like a peanut. I don't know how well you will be able to see anything but we tried.

Tomorrow I am heading to Bolivar to throw a baby shower for my best friend. I haven't told her yet...I am waiting till the shower is over and it is driving me crazy! It will be fun having kids the same age even though we don't live very close.
Hey guys!

As most of you know...or hopefully know by now...we are going to have a BABY! We are really excited! I wanted to put this blog together since we have family and friends all over the country and we learned early that it takes forever calling everybody trying to pass along the news!

This blog will get the message out at one time...to everyone!Right now, all we know is that the due date is March 6th. I didn't even think about it until someone mentioned that next year is a leap year. My child could be born on February 29th. I will be doing my best to keep that from happening! :)
